Ultra sonography 44 EUR

Sonography or medical ultrasound is a highly informative, easy-to-perform and safe diagnostic method that uses high-frequency mechanical pulses to collect information from an area or organ under study. Ultrasound is used as a primary study method for many diseases, but also as a clarifying study in case of certain findings.
Preparation for an abdominal examination: On the day before the test avoid sweets, gassing and hard-to-digest foods and beverages (peas, beans, cabbage, fresh curd, fatty and smoked meat, pastries, energy drinks, mineral water) and fresh fruits and vegetables. You can take laxatives to make sure you have emptied your bowel before the ultrasound test. You can drink pure tap water as much as you want.
In case of an upper abdomen ultrasound examination, YOU MUST NOT eat or drink fizzy drinks for at least 5 hours before the examination.
What happens during the examination?
Before an abdominal ultrasound, you will be asked to remove your clothes as well as any jewelry from the area of study. A transducer with special gel is placed on your abdomen skin, this may feel a bit cold. The technician will move the transducer on your skin. The examination is painless, but sometimes the technician needs to apply more pressure on some areas of the abdomen in order to get a better image and this may cause slight discomfort. Normally, the examination of a single area lasts about 15-20 minutes.
Contraindications
Abdominal examination cannot be performed if there is excess intestinal gas in the abdomen, thus in case of insufficient preparation, and in case of severe obesity.
The ultrasound technician gets and explains the results during the examination.

ECG exercise test (with cardiologist appointment) 40 EUR

The stress test is a cardiovascular study that measures your heart’s ability to respond to external stress and diagnose possible cardiological illnesses. The stress test is also used to evaluate treatment outcome.

Stress test is performed

  • to asses general physical fitness (also known as stress resistance) as a health indicator
  • to clarify complaints (such as suspicion of arrhythmia, chest pain, breathing problems, headaches, etc.)
  • to detect hidden cardiovascular diseases
  • to find out the base abilities of someone who starts with workout
  • to assess objectively the effectiveness of workout
  • to asses the reserves and treatment efficacy in patients with cardiac and respiratory problems.

Before starting a stress test, disposable electrodes are attached on your chest and connected to the apparatus.
After that a stress test is carried out on a veloergometer /treadmill with the intensity level increased at regular intervals. The physician continuously monitors the cardiovascular adaptation process under the stress and on recovery in the ECG, the device records the heart rate at different intensity levels and measures blood pressure.
The stress test is discontinued when your heart rate has reached a maximum target level or when your health indicators worsen or you suddenly feel unwell.
After the stress test, the physician will summarize the results of the health test, based on which your cardiac performance indicators are evaluated.

ECG (with cardiologist appointment) 20 EUR

Blood sugar test 9 EUR

Blood sugar or glucose is an energy source or fuel for the body’s cells in the same way that petrol is for a car. In order for glucose to pass into the cells and for this to produce the energy we need in our everyday lives, the pancreas must secrete a sufficient amount of insulin. If there is not enough, blood sugar will not pass into the cells and its level in the blood will rise. And regardless of the high concentration of sugar in the blood, a person’s body would actually starve: there may be enough food, but the body would not be absorbing it. This would lead to diabetes.

Cholesterol test 8 EUR

Cholesterol is a fat-like substance that can be found everywhere in the body. It plays an important role in cell construction and in producing vitamin D and certain hormones. Your body obtains cholesterol in two main ways: it is produced in the liver or gets it from the cholesterol in animal products: red and white meat and fish, full-cream produce and egg yolks. The liver produces 80% of the body’s cholesterol. Overproduction of cholesterol and excessive consumption of food-based cholesterol (including saturated fats, which the liver converts into cholesterol) may produce a rise in cholesterol levels in the blood.

Express method for determining haemoglobin 10 EUR

People often complain of fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath and other symptoms caused by an indicator which is different from the normal haemoglobin level.
Haemoglobin is the iron-containing protein giving the red blood cells its colour and the main task of which is to carry oxygen from the lungs to other organs and tissues of the body.
Being aware of the haemoglobin level gives information on the state of health of the person and creates the opportunity to prevent the occurrence of some serious health
disorders thus extending the number of healthy years.

Haemoglobin level which is lower than the normal value causes anaemia. As the result of anaemia the ability of blood to carry oxygen into cells decreases, causing the deficiency of oxygen in the body.

The main symptoms of anaemia are:

  • paleness
  • fatigue
  • irritability
  • shortness of breath
  • low blood pressure
  • sore tongue
  • decrease or loss of appetite
  • headache.

Normal values of haemoglobin

*Women 12.1–15.1 g/dl
*Men 13.5–15.1 g/dl

Lyme borreliosis rapid test 15 EUR

People who have had contact with ticks which is followed by the appearance of a skin rash, joint disorders or neurological signs (headaches etc) can make the lyme borreliosis rapid test.

Rapid antibody test for Heliobacter pylori 12 EUR

Gastritis and ulcer are one of the most frequently occurring diseases. Since the discovery of H.Pylor it has been studied that this bacterium is one of the main causes of ulcer.

The human organism reacts to the infection of H.Pylor by producing certain anti H.Pylor IgG antibodies which can be studied with H.Pylor rapid test. A positive test result shows the existence of H.Pylor antibodies but does not differentiate an acute infection from an already suffered infection and therefore in case of a positive result it is recommended to consult with a doctor on the need to perform further examinations and treatment.

The rapid test is performed with 2-3 drops of fingertip blood. The result can be received within 5-6 minutes.

PSA rapid test 11 EUR

Men are recommended to do PSA test once a year starting from the age of 50. Men whose close relatives have been diagnosed with prostate or breast cancer or have a history of urinary conditions, should do their first check already at the age of 45. Healthy men have usually low PSA levels. The PSA levels of 2.5 ng/ml or an increase of 0.6 ng/ml over a year are considered clinically significant, and in such cases it is recommended that the man perform additional exams to exclude prostate diseases. Rapid test enables to determine the increase of PSA and assess the need for further examination and treatment. Rapid test is done from 2-3 drops of blood taken from a finger tip. You can get the results in 5-6 minutes. In case of a positive result, contact your family physician.
